MayDay Meltdown Comp at Elev8 Climbing and Fitness
The second annual MayDay Meltdown bouldering comp just went down and I was asked to cover the day, photographically speaking. Here are some highlights that I feel represent the day true to form. The comp was broken into 3 waves with climbers competing in youth, advanced, intermediate, and beginner brackets. Points are earned in a graduated scale depending on the difficulty of the problem, aka the route up the wall, and are only awarded once the problem is completed in a controlled fashion. Local food vendors, artists, and even buckets of bubbles gave opportunities for all to enjoy the day while DJ Ras Marco D spun funky beats and the climbers competed. Heck of a way to welcome spring in!
