The Boardman Review
A quarterly rag that's self defined as "the creative culture & outdoor lifestyle journal of northern Michigan". The feature story and cover shot with the Winter '22 issue where I pieced together a photo essay about snow-kiting on a frozen. What started out as a bluebird day quickly turned into a blizzard and whiteout conditions making for some spectacular images and a memorable day.
Points North
I followed reporter and podcaster Dan Wanschura into a marsh in Saginaw Michigan where he interviewed Rail researcher Dustin Brewer. Dustin's work in the marsh was to determine if auditory calls can reintroduce these slender marsh birds to their habitat. STAB
Chasing waves in mid-February in Northern Michigan isn't everyone's cup of tea, however for a couple local surfers, it's their bread and butter. I documented the day and put together a photoessay for STAB Mag as these surfers dodged basketball ice chunks, navigated frigid waters, and howling wind all in the pursuit of good waves.
MSR
The mission of bike packing and fly fishing through Oregons remote single track led Galen Wilder and I on a journey with unexpected turns and hardships. I wrote, photographed, and documented the account as well as adapted a practical guide for the MSR blog.
Native Eyewear
I provided a most excellent photoessay of a heli-ski trip to Haines Alaska, however they have taken down their blog. Such a shame because the story was Pulitzer Prize winning stuff...you'll have to take my word for it or drop me a line to check the photos.
